Magnetic clamping
The biggest advantage of magnetic clamping systems for moulding machines that use steel back-plates is that customers don’t have to change anything on the mould. Moulds of any shape; round, square or rectangular, can easily be clamped with a magnetic clamping system. The holding/clamping force is equal or slightly more than the opening force of the machine to ensure safe clamping.
EAS provide two Pressmag magnetic clamping systems; the Pressmag SP model for small-size machines up to 400 tons; and the Pressmag HP model for large-size machines up to 5’000 tons. The Pressmag SP unit is especially suitable for smaller machines because of very thin, 38 mm magnetic plates and the standard temperature range of 150°C. The Pressmag HP magnetic clamping system features the long pole design which results in superior holding forces for larger size machines and large moulds.

For a well known – global manufacturer of automotive air-conditioning units – EAS designed and installed a complete QMC solution on several of their Engel 1’300 ton machines. The EAS system consists of hydraulic clamping units with pre rollers for horizontal mould change applications, automatic multi couplers for all the utility connections, automatic mould change tables for 15 ton moulds which are positioned on both side of the injection moulding machine, as well as automatic multi couplers on the mould change tables for pre heating and cooling down purposes.
