Plastic injection moulding parts suppliers must be flexible to be successful in the marketplace. And all this can be done using manual or automatic connections for the machine interface, as well as telescopic push/pull devices with automatic mould grippers and/or power driven rollers to facilitate the mould change.

Other cart features include locating devices that are installed along the rail, the machine or the storage rack to ensure precise mould positioning. In addition, there are locking clamps on the roller bed to hold the mould securely in place during transport, as well as safety bumpers, acoustic or light signals, operator cab, and other security equipment.

Capable to handle moulds weighing up to 200 tons, rail-guided mould change carts can function manually, semi automatically or in the fully automated mode. Operators can walk along the cart with a remote control unit in hand, or sit comfortably on the carts’ platform – controls at the fingertips. And for applications where different size injection moulding machines are used, the mould change cart can be fitted with a mechanism that adjusts the height of the cart. And lastly, depending on the installation, rail-guided mould change carts can be battery driven or they can use electric power from an overhead rail or cable trolley – the solution usually being determined by the length of the rail and the frequency of the mould changeovers.
